Love & Gelato took place in Florence, Italy where all things were described very cute and lovely.
Lina just lost her mom and promised her she will spend her whole summer days this year in Italy with her 'stranger' dad, Howard.
I like how Jenna told us about Tuscany and Florence, she made me wants to go to Italy someday. Before, Vatican is already on my wishlist to go (money please come to me..), but after I read this book, I really felt in love with Italy. How she described the city, the landscape, the atmosphere, the language and the most importantly GELATO. 100% perfect. Yess! Take me there, please.
Lina spends her summer day with her mother past journal when she lived in Italy, devour it bit by bit.
Also, on her first day in Italy, she met this cute guy named Ren. Turns out he supposed to be her classmate if she decided to continue her school here. Ren brings her to his friend party and Lina's future classmates and they are awesome! I like Marco especially.
At the party, we learn that Ren has a pretty girlfriend already, Mimi. She's like the perfect Swedish model and Lina got distraction with Thomas, a beautiful British guy. Is this potential drama?
All in all, I really enjoy all of the lovely-dovey scenes at the first half.
However, I don't like the direction this book going at the later half.
If you love Kasie West's style (and I'm a huge fan of her), maybe you can check this book out. It's not that great as Kasie's but it's entertaining in a similar way.
A life without love is like a year without summer.
