Sigh.. This book was frustrating.
It has potential, like Slammed *best Colleen Hoover's book so far for me* but you wouldn't find anything come near to Slammed on this book.
What I did not like this book:
1. The main character, Charlie. I don't like being on her head. She's always whiny about her appearance. Well, a girl may have a self-confidence issue but I'm tired reading about "I'm not pretty" over and over again. Okay, you think you're not pretty? Just get over with it and please do not mention it every ten or twenty pages of this book.
2. The best friend, Lila. I don't think Lila is a good best friend for Charlie and neither Charlie to Lila. Charlie always thinking about how pretty Lila is and it affects other people to ignore her when she's with Lila. Lila is no better, got a boyfriend and leave her best friend behind is not a good best friend's trait.
3. The main interest, Mr. Drummond aka The Handsomest English Teacher ever. Jeez, if you don't want to have a relationship with your student, then don't start to act like one. You're a teacher, then take full responsibility for every action you've done.
4. The perfectionist mother. Hm, I know some daughter felt like being closer to their father than the mother. But doesn't every child at least have some affection to their parents? I don't feel Charlie really have that to her mother. It's like she's just a stranger who just happened to share a home with Charlie. And when Charlie walked into her parent's bedroom when they are making out? Gross... Worst reading material ever!
5. The plot. Nothing ever happened in this book. I was bored since the beginning but I kept on reading hoping that the latter part is going to be awesome or have some interesting plot. Well, this is the student-teacher-forbidden-relationship issue! I hoped for at least one scandal to appear. Sadly, the book keeps disappointing me until the end.
